Stop me if you have heard this before: a series about a loose canon yet genius crime fighter who comes on board with a police force and quickly butts heads with the department’s no-nonsense leader. The twist this time around: the loose cannon, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), is a former psychic medium though he has claimed that he faked paranormal abilities. Still he has uncanny skills of observation and uses these to solve impossible crimes.
I rank this as one of those shows with very marginal interest for the genre. Another cop show with a twist, this one seeks to pull in a few fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy along with the regular viewers of police procedural shows. I may tune in for the premiere, but I don’t expect this one to make it to my must watch list.
