NBC’s supernatural staple about spiritual medium Allison DuBois who assists the Phoenix District Attorney in solving cases returns for a fifth season in February 2009. Originally only thirteen episodes of the series were ordered for the current season, but NBC has bumped that up by six, giving a total of nineteen. Also, the peacock network had planned on having the series anchor a Sunday night fantasy block which would have had Medium at 9 PM sandwiched between freshman series Merlin and Kings which would have aired at 8 PM and 10 PM respectively. They have since shied away from this slate and will move Medium back to the Monday 10 PM slot it had last year where it will lead-out Heroes.
